Dropbox for Business: Standard vs Advanced.

Dropbox Business is the enterprise-ready version of the product 500m people (and 10m in Australia) already use and love. Almost every business that Insight is working with is using Dropbox - employees storing and sharing files with an account tied to the corporate email address. IT is given the controls they need through the admin console.

Things advanced have that standard doesn't have.

• Invite enforcement
  • Invite enforcement will require all invited users with a personal Dropbox or Paper account created using an email on the verified domain to select from one of two options:
    • Join the team with their existing account.
    • If their account has mostly personal content, they can change the email address associated with this account to a new personal email address. This will keep their existing content separate from the business account.
      
      
• Device approvals
  • With device approvals, team admins can manage the devices that team members use to access their Dropbox Business accounts. You can limit the number of connected devices for team members.
    
    
• Sign in as user
  • Team admins can sign in to the account of anyone on their team. Team admins can access different team member accounts to:
    • Organize a new employee's Dropbox account before they start
    • Troubleshoot issues
    • Keep a project moving while team members are away from the office
      
      
• Single Sign On (SSO) integrations
  
  • Simply and secure dropbox login by using your Office 365 credentials or third party identity provider to authenticate.
    
    
• Audit logging, filtering and exportin for two-dozen file-level events
  
  • If you are the admin of a team on an Advanced or Enterprise Dropbox Business plan, you can create a more detailed activity log report showing file-level activity. You can use these reports to investigate and troubleshoot problems, such as accidental file deletions. 
• Tiered admins
  • Admins on an Advanced or Enterprise Dropbox Business plan can have global permissions (as a team admin) or a more limited set of permissions (as user management and support admins). Admins on a Standard team all have global permissions as team admins.
    
    
• Domain/sub-domain verification
  • Allows you to verify your domain identity with Dropbox so you can take advantage of other features on the platform.
    
    
• Phone support
• Access to upcoming features exclusive to Advanced
